Bridgetown Conservatory Of Musical Theater to host 4th Annual FRESHMAN CABARET


Bridgetown Conservatory is hosting the 4th annual Freshman Cabaret on August 8, 2021 at 2pm. This annual event (canceled in 2020 due to COVID) is a musical farewell for artists graduating from high school just before entering their university musical theater programs. “This is a wonderful opportunity to celebrate the incredibly hard work that has gone into the college audition process for these talented young artists,” said Bridgetown Artistic Director Rick Lewis. “The past year has been devoted to preparing the repertoire for the pre-selection auditions and for the unified university auditions. We are very proud of the accomplishments of every student in Bridgetown! Performers include: Lucy Ames, Finley Brisko, Ella Carson, Kate Daley, Sidney George, Chiara Rothenberg, Kaiya Shivers, Ella Springer, Riku Toyohara and Carson Verity.

Bridgetown Conservatory of Musical Theater prides itself on being the premier training ground for young performers for a professional career in musical theater. Bridgetown offers ‘triple threat’ training (performance, dance and vocal performance) for young professionals aged 12-19, preparing for college entry into top musical theater programs and careers. professionals in musical theater. The Bridgetown Conservatory’s Triple Threat Musical Theater program is taught by former professionals from Broadway and New York, providing experienced and thoughtful insight into the training of young performers.

In recent years, graduates of the Bridgetown Conservatory have secured places in such prestigious musical theater programs as: The Royal Central School of Speech and Drama (London), The Royal Conservatory of Scotland, Manhattan School of Music, Marymount Manhattan , NYU / Steinhard, NYU / Tisch, Boston Conservatory, Chapman University, Pace University, SCU Dramatic Arts, AMDA, Molloy College / CAP21, among others.

Preparation for the Bridgetown Conservatory’s University Musical Theater is so successful that Broadway producer Corey Brunish has established the Brunish Broadway Musical Theater Scholarship; the scholarship will be awarded to a high school graduate who completes the Bridgetown Conservatory program and is completing a 2- or 4-year college musical theater program. Full criteria and application requirements will be communicated shortly. The scholarship will be awarded in early spring 2022.
